Your First Day on RiftMu, In Order

Last updated: 10 July 2026

At 5000x, your first day is not about surviving — it is about not leaving free progress on the table. This is the do-this-then-that version for RiftMu specifically; if you want the concepts behind it (what resets are, how the economy works), that lives in the beginner guide. A focused first session gets you to your first reset and switches on every daily system whose clock only starts when you do.

Before you log in (20 minutes)

  1. Create the account — with a password you use nowhere else (the one security step that actually matters; the safety page explains why).
  2. Download the client and verify it — two minutes with the verification steps. If SmartScreen complains about a verified file, the startup guide shows how to proceed safely.
  3. Pick your realm. Permanent Realm (5000x) for the world your progress lives on forever; Speed Realm (99,999x, seasonal, Blood Angel starter set) if you want the racing season first — you can export 2 characters to the Permanent Realm when it closes. The realm overview compares them line by line.
  4. Pick a class you will still like in a month. All 16 are viable for a first character; the honest shortcut is: Dark Knight or Crusader for straightforward melee, Dark Wizard or Rune Wizard for casters, Dark Lord for command-style play. The class-selection hub compares them by role, and every class has its own build guide — note Elf PvM is deliberately weak on the Speed Realm specifically.

Hour one (level 1 → deep into the route)

  1. Turn on auto-stats immediately: /addstr auto 500 (or /addagi//addene for your build) assigns points while you grind. Full syntax in commands & hotkeys; which stat for which class in stats explained.
  2. Level along the classic route — Lorencia/Noria → Devias → Lost Tower/Atlans → Tarkan and onward (full spot list). At 5000x you change maps every few minutes at first; move up whenever kills stay instant.
  3. Do class quests when they unlock — and know that RiftMu has /evoquest for fast class evolution (details in the class quest guide).
  4. Pick up jewels, not junk. Bless, Soul, Chaos and the Season 20–21 jewels are the economy (what each does). Zen matters too — Grand Resets eventually cost 50,000,000 Zen each.

Same session: switch on the daily engines

These systems pay per day, so every day they are off is income lost:

End of day one: your first reset

Reaching the reset threshold on day one is normal at 5000x. Read the reset guide before you type /reset so you know what carries over, then take it — the reset loop is the actual game, and starting it on day one puts you on the rankings ladder immediately. Your longer arc from here: resets → Grand Reset (20 resets + level 400 + 50M Zen) → Master Level territory.

What NOT to do on day one

  • Don’t donate yet. Our own donation policy tells you to play free first and start with the €1 package if you ever do. Day one is for finding out whether the server deserves your money.
  • Don’t buy gear from world chat. Day-one prices are tourist prices. Learn the market for a few days first.
  • Don’t contest occupied spots on PvP maps. Spot etiquette is enforced socially and then violently (PvP guide). There are enough free spots.
  • Don’t ignore the second character slot. A shop/mule character in town saves hours over the coming weeks.
