Privacy Policy

Your data matters. This page spells out what RiftMu collects, what we do with it and which rights stay firmly in your hands.

1. What We Collect

We stick to the minimum needed to run the service:

  • Account basics: your username, email address and an encrypted password.
  • Your IP address plus browser and device details, used for security.
  • Activity on the game and website — logins, ranking entries, forum posts.
  • Payment details only when you donate or buy something, handled securely by processors like PayPal and Stripe. Full card numbers never touch our servers.
  • Whatever you send us through support tickets, email or the contact form.

2. Why We Collect Data

We use your data to:

  • Protect accounts and stop abuse and cheating.
  • Remember your settings and personalize what you see.
  • Measure site and game performance anonymously so we can improve.
  • Meet legal obligations and defend our rights.

3. Cookies & Tracking

Cookies keep you logged in, remember preferences and feed analytics — some come from third parties like Google Analytics. You can turn cookies off in your browser, but parts of the site may break.

4. Data Sharing

Your data is never for sale. It reaches only trusted partners who handle payments, hosting or analytics for us — or authorities when the law demands it, such as fraud investigations.

5. Your Rights

GDPR, CCPA and similar laws give you the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you (“right of access”).
  • Have wrong or outdated information corrected.
  • Have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object to, or limit, certain kinds of processing.

6. Children’s Privacy

RiftMu is not aimed at children under 16 without parental consent. When we learn a child is using the service without permission, that data is deleted quickly.

7. Data Security

Passwords are stored encrypted, traffic runs over HTTPS and modern safeguards protect the databases. Even so, no online system can promise absolute security.

8. Policy Updates

Legal or service changes can require updates to this policy. Significant ones are announced on the website; using the service afterwards means you accept the new version.

9. Contact Us

Data requests and privacy questions go to [email protected] — or just use the contact form.
