Pentagrams and Errtels on RiftMu: The Elemental Option System Explained
Last updated: 12 July 2026
Pentagrams and Errtels are how RiftMu characters stack real elemental power on top of their normal gear - extra elemental damage, defense, and attack or defense success rate that nothing else in the game gives you. The two systems are easy to mix up because they only work together: a Pentagram is the item you equip, and an Errtel is the jewel you socket into it. This guide covers both, plus the matching wing and earring option systems that run on the same mechanics.
Pentagram for Beginners
Pentagram EmblemUnlike most equipment families, Pentagram items don't share one generic name - each one is a uniquely named piece like Pentagram for Beginners or Pentagram Emblem, and they all use the same equipment slot. What matters for this guide isn't which one you're wearing, it's what you socket into it.
The 5 Errtel elements
Every Errtel carries one of five types, and each type has its own stat: Anger, Blessing, Integrity, Divinity and Radiance. The first four come in a cheaper Beginner tier alongside the regular version; Anger, Blessing and Integrity additionally have a further advanced tier for players pushing past the standard line.

Errtel of RadianceErrtel rank: 1 through 5
Beyond its element, every Errtel has a rank from 1 to 5, and rank decides which Pentagram socket it can go into - rank 2 in the second slot, rank 3 in the third, and so on. Ranking up an Errtel from one tier to the next is one of the safest bets in the entire game:
| Step | Success rate |
|---|---|
| Create Errtel (from fragments) | 70% |
| Errtel rank up (rank 2 through 5) | 100% |
Creation is the only part with real risk - once you have the Errtel in hand, ranking it up is guaranteed every time.
Leveling an Errtel's option: 0 to 10
Each Errtel also has an option level from 0 to 10 that scales the size of its bonus. This is the grindiest part of the system - every level is its own roll, and later levels cost more and land at the lower end of the success range:
| Step | Success rate |
|---|---|
| Errtel option level up (by rank & level) | 70% – 90% |
| Errtel extraction from Pentagram | 70% – 80% |
Extraction isn't guaranteed either
If you want to move an Errtel out of one Pentagram and into another, extraction has its own success rate rather than being automatic - budget for a spare or two if you're rebuilding a loadout.
The same system on wings and earrings
Pentagram-tier wings and Pentagram earrings use this exact option-leveling mechanic, just with their own material and cost tables:
| System | Success rate |
|---|---|
| Pentagram wing option level up (+0 to +14) | 70% – 90% |
| Pentagram earring level up (+0 to +14) | 70% – 80% |
| Add elemental option to wings (by Errtel level) | 70% – 90% |
| Enhanced elemental option level up (+0 to +14) | 70% |
That last one - the Enhanced Elemental Option - is its own dedicated system for pushing elemental damage and defense further on Pentagram-tier gear specifically. Jewel of BlessQuick recap
- Get a Pentagram item equipped - any of them work, the name doesn't change what you can socket into it.
- Create Errtels in the element you want (Anger, Blessing, Integrity, Divinity or Radiance) - a 70% roll per attempt.
- Rank them up toward the socket you're filling - a guaranteed 100% once you have the Errtel.
- Level the option from 0 to 10 for the full bonus - budget extra materials, since this is the part with the widest risk range.
- Repeat on wings and earrings once your main Pentagram is where you want it - same mechanic, separate material lists.
FAQ
What is the difference between a Pentagram and an Errtel?
A Pentagram is the item itself - a uniquely named accessory that goes in your Pentagram equipment slot. An Errtel is a separate jewel you socket into that Pentagram to give it an elemental option. The Pentagram is the frame; Errtels are what you put in it.
How many Errtel types are there?
Five: Anger, Blessing, Integrity, Divinity and Radiance. The first four have a cheaper Beginner tier alongside the regular version, and three of them - Anger, Blessing and Integrity - also have a further advanced tier.
Is ranking up an Errtel risky?
No - Errtel rank-up (moving from rank 2 through rank 5) is a guaranteed 100% success on RiftMu. The parts of the system with real risk are leveling an Errtel's option (0 to 10) and extracting one back out of a Pentagram.
